During morning meeting, the Sparrows found out we would be having a visitor to our classroom. Friends spent the first half of the morning guessing who our visitor would be. Around 10:00 our visitor entered the room and it was Andrea! Andrea came to read us a story. During her visit, Andrea read Quail Can't Decide. In the story, Quail has a dollar and she can't make up her mind on what to spend it on.
The Sparrows were SUPER attentive and followed along by answering questions and giving their observations.
Ask your Sparrow what Quail decided to spend her dollar on.
If they need a clue, ask if Quail chose a yellow bracelet or sugar bowl.
After reading, Andrea asked friends, "If you had a dollar, what would you buy?"

After reading with Andrea, we went outside for a short outdoor play time. Just enough to stretch and move our large muscles. Shortly after, we came back inside to work on our smaller muscles!
Friends chose between flubber, playdough, and Cootie.
Making cupcakes
For Cootie, a group of up to four friends can play at a time. The object of the game is build your bug first. Each friend starts out with a bug body, then friends take turns rolling the die, collecting all the pieces needed to build their bug. Whichever item the die lands on is the item you collect, such as head, eyes, mouth, antenna and legs.
Tomorrow at 11:00 am, early childhood will be joining their 4th grade buddies outside for our own version of Field Day, in the form of some cooperative games. Please make sure that your Sparrow comes to school in clothes that will let them run and jump - sneakers and socks, t-shirts and comfy pants or shorts. We will post plenty of pictures!
