Play Clay, Field Day!

Today at Meeting for Worship friends listened to the book "These Hand" by Hope Lynne Price. After reading, we shared silence with all EC and kindergarten.
Back in the classroom, we had a yummy snack and soon after we went to art. Amanda explained to the Sparrows that today was a "Play Clay Day."
Friends manipulated the clay by squishing, squeezing, pulling, pushing and pressing it. That exercise with the clay helps to develop large and small muscles. It helps foster eye-hand coordination and also to build a child's ability to focus.
Friends very much so enjoyed playing with clay, they made a lot of shapes and items like cookies, cakes, faces, pancakes and many more.  Next class friends will have the chance to create and design something out of clay, and "fire" that piece in the kiln to keep!

It was Field Day at school today!
The Sparrows were very active playing the games that the fourth grade friends organized for them.
It was so nice to see the older kids explaining the activities and making sure everyone was engaged.
The Sparrows tried challenging activities with a lot of confidence.
Friends were tirelessly chasing one another until it was time to go back in.
