This morning the Sparrows finished up designing their Harvest Fest T-shirts. Friends chose their leaf stamp and paint color, and then pressed it onto each shirt. Friends cannot wait to wear them this Wednesday!

When we came inside from outdoor play, Natey gave a presentation on his recent trip to Miami. Natey brought in pictures and a couple video clips to share. Friends loved seeing the different animals! There were pictures of crocodiles, a camel, rhino and turtles. All very exciting! Great job sharing and explaining your experiences Natey!

Last week we read the story, The Very Best Pumpkin. The story is about a boy named Peter, who grows up on his Mimi and Papa's farm. One day, Peter finds a pumpkin all alone in the patch and takes it upon himself to help this pumpkin grow! Come Fall, the pumpkin is ready to be harvested but rather than keep it for himself, Peter gives the pumpkin to his new friend, Meg.

Today, the Sparrows got to pick their very own "very best pumpkin." Each Sparrow had the opportunity to sit with their pumpkin, hold it, and use their senses to describe it.

Sparrow pumpkin descriptions:

Thea - It's bumpy.
Vivian - It's heavy.
Lincoln - It smells like cotton candy.
Natey - It's so orange.
Asha - It's heavy and bumpy.
Gracie - It's hard and smells like pizza.
Zev- It has bumps on the sides and it feels a little cold.
Dylan - It feels a little bit cold and it has a stem.
Jessica - I like that it's orange and that it has bumps on the side.
Millie - It's small.

Tomorrow, friends will have the chance to decorate their "very best pumpkin," and make it their own by adding personalized touches. The Sparrows have already decided that they want to name their pumpkins!
Ask your Sparrow what they are going to name their pumpkin.
