Autumn Picnic

Sparrows love Spanish! Alicia was very surprised when she found out that friends knew all the vocabulary for "Merienda" (snack). Sparrows practiced the colors in Spanish and then Alicia introduced the new Spanish vocabulary "Animales de la Savana" (Animals from the Savanna).
During choice time friends worked together combining train tracks and wooden blocks to build a magnificient circuit.
Some Friends played with play dough and made all sorts of Halloween candy.
Today all the Sparrows completed their journals "What animal are you studying". Friends sounded the letters and wrote some of them!

Friends enjoyed pita bread (pan pita), hummus (pasta de garbanzos) and oranges (naranjas) for snack. Ask your Sparrow the words in Spanish, he /she might surprise you! :)
During Morning meeting we talked about the meaning of the word harvest, we read a book about harvesting. Then we talked also about the Harvest Fest in which we will be using the purple shirt that Friends dumped earlier in a bucket full of water with purple dye in it.

Friends were very excited to eat lunch outside and enjoy a little bit more this beautiful fall day.
