Early morning sillies.
During morning meeting, the Sparrows read Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain. The story tells us about how animals and humans survived a drought. Friends noticed the repetition and rhyming in the story. After reading, friends shared their thoughts on the book and answered comprehension questions.
Ask your Sparrow what a drought is.
In Art class today, friends added to the work they created last week. This was a great way for friends to see and understand art as a process. The Sparrows used precut paper shapes to make their very own designs, particularly houses, buildings and trees. Friends glued the different shape pieces onto the paper, layering rectangles, squares, ovals and more. The Sparrows loved this activity! Friends were attentive in finding the right shapes for their art work and took care of details as well.
Ask your Sparrow what they named their picture in art today!
