Weekend News and Shape animals

Gracie – I played with my Dad. I watched “Power Rangers.”

Jessica -  I played games and then we practiced doing “The Nutcracker” and then we had dinner. Yesterday I played games with AJ and then we had dinner at "Oudaba’s."

Asha – Yesterday I went to my grandma and grandpa’s house and played games. I also played with “Sadi”  over there.

Zev – I watched “Toys” on the Ipad and then mommy and daddy came home and I couldn’t watch anymore.

Millie – I played games with my brother. I had pizza but I didn’t have any ice cream. I went to Chuck E. Cheese and played games. Ethan and I went down the slide.

Dylan – I laid on the couch. I ate breakfast. I changed my clothes. I went on the couch again. Then I went to school.

Lincoln – We ate some lunch. We went to the hockey game. Then we went home and rest. Then it was Monday.

Natey – A boy named Thomas came to my house. I played. We went to the pizza place. “G-mom” came to my house and she took Thomas home.

Jaylen – I went to “Nana’s” house with Kaya. Sadie went to a sleepover. Mommy and Daddy “sleeped” at my house. We went bowling with my whole family. It was fun.

Henry – I “builded” a Lego “Totoro” for Daddy.  He liked it. I put ears on it.

Thea – I had bagels for breakfast. I played with “Quinn”. I played fetch.

We read "There Is A Wocket In My Pocket " by Dr. Seuss. Then the children crated there own animals out of shapes, deciding where the animals would live and what they would eat. There were also some nice conversations occurring while we decided who would play together and how at choice time.

Truffula Trees

Since this week is Dr Seuss's birthday we started to read The Lorax. The book is about caring the environment by protecting the trees. The trees from The Lorax are called "Truffula trees" and the Sparrows are making their own! 

We noticed on the pictures of the Truffulas trees that their trunk have colorful patterns, so Friends choose between two tempera colors and painted the trunks. Then they glued a piece of tissue paper on the top. 

Today in Art class Friends worked with clay. They made their very own coil pot. The first step was to make a flat round shape, like a pancake. Then they rolled up little pieces of clay and added them one by one around the round shape. Next class Sparrows will color  the pots.

It was too cold today to go outside so we went downstairs and played games. Sparrows favorite games are "Mister Fox" and "Swim Fishy Swim."

When Sparrows work together they communicate ideas to each other and make beautiful structures. In this one Friends used blocks.

 This structure is for the marbles to run on it.

Friends had fun manipulating the clay and it is also a good exercise for fine motor skills.

Weekend News - March 4th

Weekend News - March 4th

 Zev – I watched something on the IPad.

 Natey – Mimi and Uncle Rich came to my house. I bounced in my house.  I played with Uncle Rich and Mimi. They live in Hawaii.

Dylan – I played with my brother, Barrett. I played toys. I ate breakfast and then I got changed and brushed my teeth and then I packed my stuff up and came to school.

Lincoln – I played with my brother Toby. I played Buzz Lightyear. I played in the snow with Toby.

Jessica – I went to a basketball game, The Harlem Globetrotters. We had cotton candy and I got a basketball. We went to see some campers so we can go camping. I want the one with the bunk bed so I can climb up top.

Vivian – On the first day, Milo had a play date with me. On the second day I thought we were going to go to my grandma and grandpa’s house but mommy and daddy didn’t let us.

Thea – I played dance party with all my family. We went to the beach.

Millie – I saw the movie “The Black Fairy” and  “The Blue Fairy” at the movie theatre.

Asha – I went to the robotic competition with Mommy and Daddy. I played with my sister.

Gracie – I played with me Daddy. I “builded” a Spiderman Lego. I had potato soup. It was very good.

We went to library and exchanged books. In the afternoon we worked on puzzles with friends and practiced putting beads on pipe cleaners.
